Payments

We understand that purchasing a Friesian horse is a dream for many people and we would like to be a part of that dream for you which is why we offer payment plans to suit your needs.  We encourage all our buyers to pay off the horse as quickly as possible so that they can take home their dream horse as soon as possible. If you purchase a foal and pay it off quickly you are still able to board that foal with us if you do not have accommodations for a foal (board additional). There is no interest on payments.

**NOTE** payments are just for the purchase price, Board, Insurance, Vet, Farrier, Training is additional. A higher deposit will lower the monthly payments ** information subject to change at any time. This is not a contract, just a reference page.

               Board - For 2017 Board is $250/ mo (subject to change in future years) Starts when the foal is 4mo old and older.

               Vet- Is at cost and will be billed by the vet performing the work.

               Farrier - For 2017 $50/ trim to be done about every 6-8 weeks starting from 8 weeks old.

               Insurance - We can’t pick the insurance company for you, but we will help schedule vet exams (at your cost) for the insurance coverage. Rate depends on the company and age of the foal. Can be 3-8% of the purchase cost.

               Training - Depends on what is needed. We halter the foals, they get their feet done, get dewormed, are pet regularly. We will put them in our trailer, but that does not guarantee they will load in your trailer.

Savings plan

We also offer a payment plan for that person that knows they want a Friesian, is needing to buy on payments, but doesn’t have their eye on any specific horse yet. What is involved in this is that payments are made for a future foal or horse and once the balance has accumulated to equal the purchase price of an available horse the contract can be applied to that horse. This saves additional board cost on a live horse while payments are being made. If at any time you decide there is a foal that you want to apply the contract to, you can apply the payments made towards a contract on that horse. Payments need to be set up on a schedule and there are no refunds on any payments made.

General policies

• No horse can leave the care and property of the seller until the balance is paid in full.
• Minimum deposit 10% to hold the horse off the market for 30 days till the next payment is due
• The balance owed after the deposit will be divided into equal monthly payments unless other arrangements are made.
• There are no prepayment penalties we encourage buyers to pay in full as quickly as possible to bond with their horse as soon as possible.
• Predated checks are encouraged to be submitted and will be deposited on the date they are due. We do not take credit card at this time. Any bounced check has 5 business days to be rectified with a cash deposit or the contract will be voided and the horse resold with no refunds. Late and non payment fees of $50 + $5/day can and will apply if  over 5 days late on payment.
• There are no refunds on any payments made.
• We can arrange the term to suit the buyer on live horses if 10, 12 or 19 mo does not suit. But we will not go past 24 mo. You need to have your horse with you as soon as possible for bonding and training.
• Board will be charged on all horses under payment plans at a rate specified in the contract and is additional to the purchase payments. Foals on their dam will not be charged board unless they are on the dam past 4 months of age (due to extra feed requirements for the pair). Horses are housed in a group environment, private accommodations can be arranged for an additional fee.
• IN UTERO  (before the foal is born) Foal must be paid in full by 4 months of age, and over 60% of the foal must be paid off before the foal is born. Foal must be insured at 24 hours old. Live Foal agreement states that if the foal does not nurse by 24 hours or is born dead the contract can transfer to another available foal for this season. Should no foals be available for this season the payments made can be applied to the next available horse for sale. There are no refunds, only a transfer of the contract to another horse.
• Foals will not be allowed to leave prior to weaning from the mother so cannot leave the property till that time. Ideally it is 4-6 months. Buyers will be notified when it is suitable for the mare and foal to be separated so arrangements can be made to settle the balance and transport the horse
• All horses must be insured for theft and mortality at the buyers expense for the full agreed on purchase price, from the date the contract is signed (foals by 24 hrs) with a joint policy with the manager of Maiko 373 Inc and the buyer. Any additional coverage is up to the buyer.
• There are no guarantees in the purchase of a horse including but not limited to markings, confirmation and health, thus the reason the buyer is responsible for vet examinations such as a pre purchase exam, and the reason insurance is required for all horses on payments. When purchasing a foal in utero there are no guarantees on color, gender, confirmation or health the reduced price reflects the risk involved in a foal that is not yet born. Once a contract is signed the buyer is obligated to fulfill the payments till the horse is paid in full. If an inspection of the foal is preferred prior to purchasing a horse the buyer is welcome to wait to buy a live horse at the post birth cost and have a veterinarian inspect the horse at the buyers expense. Payments can be made on the savings plan towards a general horse purchase while there is a wait for the foal to be born. The savings plan contract will be voided and a sales contract issued on the live foal using all payments made towards the deposit on the live foal.
• From the date the contract is signed the buyer is responsible for all vet examinations and expenses, as well as any costs directly associated with that horse including but not limited to Farrier, Veterinarian, Board, Training and transportation. If purchasing a foal the seller will be responsible for costs directly associated with the dam, but not the foal.
• If  the term of the loan is longer than 6 months it’s advised that the buyer invest in training for the horse because it will be living in a group environment. Purchase price does not include training, riding, exercise of the horse. Those are additional and the responsibility of the buyer.
